Gironde region, France, June 2025
Thanks to your support, the agroforestry project at the Cormeil-Figeac estate in Saint-Émilion, France, is making good progress. Since 2021, this sustainable vineyard has been developing an ambitious agroforestry system combining vines, fruit trees, and vegetable crops, while respecting the balance of nature.
Rigorous and encouraging technical monitoring
During the latest technical visit, carried out in November 2024 by the local technician, the condition of the plantations proved extremely satisfactory. Tree survival rates are impressive: 97% for the 2021–2022 season; 94% for 2022–2023, and an outstanding 100% for 2024–2025.
No major health issues were observed. The young trees are thriving, and fruit tree grafting should start in 2025.
New milestone: Les Joualles

In March 2025, the final planting phase focused on creating the Jardin des Joualles, a traditional system combining fruit trees, vines, and intercropping. This new feature, located near the wine cellar, will support a new, market gardening, diversification activity on the estate.
Reinforced team
The project now benefits from the expertise of Ninon, an engineer and doctor in agronomic and forestry sciences, who joined the estate in September 2024 as head of R&D. She is overseeing rigorous monitoring of the agroforestry project, working closely with the project technician from the French Agroforestry Association, one of A Tree for You’s partners.
Tangible results thanks to you
Since the project launch, your donations via A Tree for You have funded 1,783 trees of around 30 different species. A follow-up technical visit is scheduled for autumn 2025 to continue supporting the project and assess the long-term impacts of this exemplary initiative.
