Your donation has been allocated to the project in the Bouches-du-Rhône Region of France. It aimed to introduce trees into the vineyards to create a more pleasant and functional working environment, improve water management and prevent the risk of erosion, while protecting the vines from the effects of climate change.
Unfortunately, the vagaries of weather – namely late frosts and hot summers – are having an increasingly harsh effect on the wine-growing world. This was the case in 2022 and 2023, when the estate in the south of France suffered particularly badly from frost. As a result, production fell significantly, along with yields. As a result, the winegrowers currently do not have the resources to complete this project and prefer to devote themselves to safeguarding their core business.
A Tree for You and its partner in the field, the Association Française d’Agroforesterie (AFAF), respect the winegrowers’ decision not to plant trees for the time being. Since all the funds have been raised for this first project, A Tree for You invites you to support another tree-planting project among the vines. And the timing is perfect! A wine-growing project in France has recently been selected by the A Tree for You scientific committee.

The new project we are presenting to you is that of Aurélien and Pierre, two winegrowers in the Ain region. They realised that they too are increasingly experiencing the impacts of extreme weather events such as drought and frost. In response, they have decided to plant 1,510 trees in the middle of their vineyards to improve water cycle management and soil fertility, but also to protect their vines from climate change. Motivated and strongly committed to this approach, the team hopes to plant the trees as early as next winter.For full details of the project, click here.

After this date, your donation will automatically be transferred to the wine-growing project in the Ain and you will receive regular news updates on its progress.
